Lyle Kurtenbach, 83, of Alvarado, TX, passed away on August 16, 2022. He was born in a farm house in rural South Dakota on October 5, 1938. Lyle graduated from Mitchell High School and received a Journeyman Wireman Classification from IBEW Local 426 Apprenticeship. He married Deanna Brim in 1960 and they later divorced. He married Nelda Sue Swiney in 1991 and continued their marriage until her passing in 2015. He married Mary Woods on July 30, 2016. Lyle recently received his 60-year pin and certificate as a member of IBEW, Local 288. He retired from DFW Airport Electrical Maintenance in 2001 after 19 years of service. He had a passion for Jesus, woodworking, pheasant hunting, and the Texas Rangers. Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Stella Kurtenbach; a brother, Robert Kurtenbach; and a sister, Betty Ibis. Lyle is survived by his wife, Mary Kurtenbach; his children, Ritchie (Marianne) Kurtenbach, Renee Kurtenbach, Robin (Johnnie) Vaughn, Cory Mullins, Kellie (Olatunde) Disu; his siblings, Dave Kurtenbach, Roger (Diane) Kurtenbach, Eleanor Delzer, and Sherrill Trode; 22 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends. Services for Lyle Kurtenbach will be on Saturday 08/20/2022 at 11:00am at Cahill UMC 8501 FM 917, Alvarado,TX 76009, and will be live-streamed on Facebook (Cahill United Methodists Church). A light lunch will be provided after the service. |
